What we needed to do in Minecraft is that you needed to build your landmark. My one was Broughty Ferry Castle. First I thought it was going to be very difficult but I managed to build it because lots of people helped me. Also I managed to build it really detailed because I looked at the picture. I enjoyed building and I was pleased with the final result when it was finish. Next time I could build it smaller so it be easier to add the detail and I could build it quicker.
I have been building Olympia swimming pool on ‘teacher gaming Minecraft EDU’ and the bit that was a disaster was that my first build got deleted by someone and I had to do it again. I really enjoyed building my model but it took me a long time to build and also Zakiyah was my partner So I didn’t have a lot of time to build. I was very worried if I was going to finish my build or not but I got to do it at lunchtime. I was very pleased when I finished my build. Next time when I do something like this, I should build more quickly.
For our build it Scotland project we built our landmarks which represent Dundee. My co-learning group landmark was Dundee`s new railway station. We had three weeks to build them and on the last week we had over an hour to get it finished. I`m really proud of my build because it`s really detailed and looks like a minecraft version of what the new railway station will look like. I really enjoyed building it as I can make my builds quicker and better than I used to. This is my best build in minecraft so far. I think if I could do it again I`d do the inside of the railway station – to add even more detail. I think I need to fasten up my speed with making it as well. I first did the curves in the building but because minecraft doesn’t have anything curved I had to use diagonals to make it curvy. I then made the glass windows which took most of the time. The hardest bit to do was the back of the building because it took forever to build. I have really loved doing this project and can`t wait to do things like this.
On Monday I finished my build here is a review.
I started by making the dinner hall. I used flower pots and pressure plates to do this. Then I made he first 4 classroom English, Art, Biology and Technology. Next I made the walls with smooth sandstone. I finished of with another classroom and more some empty floors. I enjoyed making my biology class because outside was a lot of animals!!! The build will be 3D printed and I will see it in real life.
On Monday we made volcanoes out of clay. First I made base then started making sausages. We piled up the clay sausages up and up making the hole in the middle smaller and smaller until I nearly couldn’t get my finger through. Then I smoothed the volcano so that it wouldn’t brake if it was moved. Then I made a vent and used the same technique as the walls. Next time we will make the volcanoes erupt using different things to see what will make the biggest eruption.
