Good morning, Devon Class!
Since we are not together in school today I am sharing some learning that you could complete at home.
Literacy:
- Write or draw a recount of something you did at the weekend.
Remember, a recount tells the events that happened in the right order and includes how you felt about it.
- Practise your sounds and spelling words.
- We have been learning how to write instructions – find a game or activity at home and have a go at writing the instructions.
Remember, instructions need:
– a title
– a list of equipment needed
– the steps in order, numbered
– short clear sentences
– bossy verbs that tell the reader what to do
– pictures or photographs to help the reader understand
– If you have a NESSY account you can spend some time on there. Secret word: ROMANCHOWDER
Numeracy:
- We have been working on patterns. Can you create shape or colour patterns using items around the house? Take a photo to share with me.
- Create your own number patterns in your number Home Learning jotter – choose a starting number and make a rule, then continue the pattern. For example:
– +3 each time… 1 4 7 10
– double the number each time… 1 2 4 8
– -2 each time… 100 98 96 94
– There are lots of number games and websites on this page that you can access too.
Topic: Forces and Electricity:
- Look around your house for ‘push’ and ‘pull’ forces in action. Make a list or take photos of what you find.
- Find items at home that use electricity and make a list. Are they plugged in or do they have a battery?
If you complete any of these activities, or some Home Learning of your own, you can share with me via email at clcgallagher@glow.sch.uk or bring it to school to show.
Stay safe and warm today!
