The Scottish Government have introduced the 1+2 Approach to Language Learning. The recommendations of this policy are that all children from Primary One learn an additional language. A second additional language should then be introduced from Primary Five. Here at Menstrie Primary, our first additional language will be French and our second additional language will be Spanish. Further information on this can be accessed using the links below.

From August 2019, staff will be able to access a new and exciting resource called Power Languages. This resource will provide lots of fantastic lesson ideas and activities to use with children.
In Menstrie Primary School we have a fantastic resource area which we call our ‘Language Learning Zone’. We have a wonderful range of bilingual storybooks, games and activities which we purchased using funds kindly donated from our Parent Council.
We look forward to progressing with our language learning next term and will keep you updated on the development of our language learning.
Merci! Gracias!
