Family Outdoor Learning Sessions
We had our first of 3 after school outdoor learning session with Jenny from the Forestry Commision and families yesterday.
We enjoyed playing games getting to know the outdoor space around our school
What’s happening in school?
We would like to welcome Miss Lang to our
Deerpark Primary School team.
Miss Lang will join us on the 6th of January and will teach Primary 5 in place of Mrs Robertson who will be going off on maternity leave.
We would like to wish Mrs Robertson and
her family all the best.
The Parent Association would like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported our Christmas Fair.
This year we made £650.
This money went towards Deerpark Primary School visit to
the pantomime.
Thank you once again for all the support in
organising, donating to, and attending this
event.
On Tuesday 10th Dec the boys and girls at
Deerpark had the opportunity to attend
the Macrobert Arts Centre to watch
Rapunzel.
Once again the learners
represented Deerpark Primary school
brilliantly and thoroughly enjoyed their
visit.
P5/6 Citizen Scientists
This week P5/6 were citizen scientists on behalf of
@BBCSpringwatch. They went outside to undertaken ‘mission 2’ where they were literally unearthing the worms and other invertebrates living in the school grounds. #citizenscience @OpenUniversity #Springwatch #gardenwatch

As it is class finalists days for our Scots Poetry competition and Rabbie Burns day, some of the children practised saying their poems to the whole school. The were very good and I can tell that the judges will have a tough job next week choosing winners from each class. We hope that you will be able to join us for our Scottish Assembly in a fortnight.
Mrs Bernard explained that lunchtime quiet club would now be a reading club to encourage and promote reading for enjoyment. Dean thought it would be a good idea to come up with a name for this and he is going to have a think and make some suggestions. Any ideas are welcome in the comments below.
