George’s 100 word challenge

One day I went to the big, dark woods and I was going to sleep there. So I started putting up the tent but the tent had fallen out of my bag. I started to look for it but it was getting dark and I was getting tired. A shape came from the distance. I walked on but I was still scared. I stopped and  looking behind me I saw a big, scary, hairy werewolf. I ran for my life. The werewolf took a big leap in front of me and I killed it. I found my tent in the bushes.

Erin G’s 100 word challenge

Looking behind me I saw a zombie. I tried to get out but there were zombies left and right and in front of me. What could I do? I said to my self. AAA!!! With my phone I called my dad and Duncan but the zombies took it and broke it. I started to scream. Help help I shouted. After 2 hours I touched one of the zombies- it felt weird. I saw somebody looking like my dad. I pulled the zombies hair and it was a mask! My dad and Duncan were being zombies. After that we went for supper at pizza hut.

Grace’s 100 word challenge

One scary night I went to a dark forest. It was very quiet and there was a really huge tree. Then I heard clip-clops. I was shivering.Suddenly I saw big glow behind me. It became very spooky and something made the bushes shake. I turn round and nothing was there. Then I felt a shiver up my spine but it was feathery. It was weird. Then the trees rustled. The weather was rainy. I saw shelter and I ran to it and looking behind me I saw a beautiful unicorn with wonderful wings. She gave me a lift home but I couldn’t sleep.

Jack’s 100 word challenge

Looking behind me I saw a ghost in shiny armour with an axe chasing me. I hid in a bedroom and the ghost switched off the light and let scorpions out of their cage. The scorpion’s tail was golden. I wanted it so bad. Then a door creaked open and two red eyes peered round the door. Then I scented food. I went down the stairs and saw a vicious dog guarding the food fit for a king. There was a roast dinner waiting for king Author  that died 1,000 years ago.

Working hard in P5/19

A few photos of what we’ve been up to in the last couple of weeks. We have been investigating the water cycle and looking at how water can become polluted. We have found out how water can be made clean again, using filters or chemicals, and why clean water is important.

We created robots using photos of electrical appliances, just like the WEEE man!!

We have been designing birthday cards for each other, so that when someone has a birthday they can choose a card from the whole class, to take home.

Spelling homework in Primary 5/19

This year we will be using an active spelling approach. Activities will include LCWC, or Look-Cover-Write-Check, Spellwell activities from the leaflet sent home last week and activities on the spellingcity.com website. Children can choose the method that suits them best, so for example may choose to do LCWC and 2 Spellwell activities in their homework jotter. At home, they can also be encouraged to write out their words on a whiteboard/blackboard or on scrap paper, even chalk their words onto the patio or driveway! 🙂  They can make posters and pictures using their words, make up wordsearches or crosswords using their words.(Wallpaper lining paper from DIY stores is a great source of cheap paper.) The aim is to get the children to engage with the spelling rules and spelling patterns in a fun and active way.

Have fun!
