Mr Reid’s Music Journey – Term 4

Good morning everyone,

I hope that you all had a lovely weekend and are excited to see the new Home Learning Grids.

Over the last week, I have been learning to play a song called ‘True Colours’ by Cyndi Lauper. The reason for selecting this song was because the Methlick School Choir have been learning it too!

Time to reflect  – Which activity did you enjoy most from the previous Home Learning Grids and why?

  1. I enjoyed making my postie poster and making mrs Fraser’s birthday card most last week! Mum hopes the choir will get the chance to sing along with you when we can all go back to school. Keep up the good work!

    1. That would be lovely, Katherine! I will keep practising and hopefully I will be ready to play with the choir when we get back to school.

        1. Thank you so much for your kind words, Megan 🙂 They have put a big smile on my face. I will try my best to keep practising and fingers crossed I can play at a Christmas concert.

  2. Hey Mr Reid- that was lovely to hear. Really reminds me of the choir and their lovely voices.
I had a listen back to your 1st post of Twinkle Twinkle- you really have improved in just 42 days. Well done 🙂

    1. Thank you very much, Mrs Fraser. Having the Sway to view my progress helps to keep me motivated to improve.

  3. “I watched each of your videos, you are getting better in every video. I liked guessing which song you were playing and I wondered how you manage to remember the notes as you don’t have a paper thing with them written on?”
“You are doing a good job learning a new thing – Mr Mutch always says Power of Yet . Mum doesn’t know what this is ”

    1. Thank you for your comments, Sol! I learn songs by watching a video of someone playing it on Youtube. I break the song into parts and learn each part off by heart so that I can eventually play it all by memory.
