Hello everyone,
I hope that you all had a lovely weekend and you are now more settled into your Home Learning routine.
I didn’t practise as much piano throughout the holidays as I had wanted to but I am still making progress. Having my Sway and being able to see the difference between Day 1 and now Day 35 helps to keep me motivated to carry on.
Question – Can you tell me the name of the song that I am playing this week? Why do you think I chose to learn this specific song?
What was the best part about being back to Home Learning last week?
Nice shirt Mr Reid. Nice playing as well. Is the song called Over the rainbow. We think you choose over the rainbow because people are drawing rainbows for the NHS.
Thank you for your kind words! You are correct with why I chose to learn this song. Did you have a chance to think about the other question I asked? What was the best part about your first week of Home Learning?
Good morning, Emily and Harry. I hope you had a good weekend. Mr Reid’s playing is definitely improving, don’t you agree? Are you going to take part in Mrs Fraser’s community challenge this week?
i like to see your music mr reid π
i am going to learn some magic tricks
Thank you, Alexander. I am really enjoying learning a new instrument and it is really relaxing. I’m going to save up some of my money and try to buy a really nice piano for my home. When we are back to school, I would love for you to show me some of your magic tricks! Good luck
The best part was in P.E. We did a bike ride and played tennis. We both got 8 out of 8 in our Friday spelling test.
Great job you two! The weather was so lovely last week so that’s great that you took full advantage of it.
Well done, both of you. That’s a great result! π
Mr Reid you are really good for day 35 well done. ;:D:D:D:D
Mr Reid do you still play the guitar
π
Hi Shaun! It is great to hear from you. Yes I do still play my guitar but I have been focusing on the piano for the last month. It has been a lot of fun to learn a new instrument, I am really enjoying the challenge. Have you been learning a new skill at home?
Well kind of i have learnt to do front flips and back flips on my trampoline i have mostly been playing my Xbox with my friends it feels like its been a eternity i miss seeing my friends especially the ones who don’t play Fortnite then i cant talk to them at all π but i have enjoyed seeing my family more often. π
I agree Shaun, it has felt like a long time since we were in school. That is great that you have been able to keep in touch with some of your friends. In Mrs Fraser’s assembly today, she had some great ideas/suggestions for different ways to keep in touch with your friends. I recommend you watch and it might give you some good ideas!
I have already watched it I agree she did give some good suggestions π
You are very good at the piano what song are you learning next
Thank you, Shaun. I set a goal that I want to practise for at least 30 minutes every day. The next song I am learning is called True Colours. I have chosen it because the choir had been learning to sing it.
Super tune Mr Reid. Well done . You’re really getting better every time we see a clip. Great effort π
Yes miss Rees i will do the challenge
That’s good to know, Emily. I look forward to hearing what you make!
Hi Mr Reid I think the song is called over the rainbow.
You chose the song to thank the NHS and the best part about being back is to do more school work because it was getting boring.
Well done Cameron, you are spot on! I agree that it can get a little boring, it is good to have a focus during the day.
Well done Mr Reid, you have learned somewhere over the rainbow because of all the rainbows in the windows at the moment to bring hope to people at the moment. The best thing about home learning is I can do it in my pyjamas!
Haha! You made me laugh, Cameron π You are correct, that is the reason I learned to play Somewhere over the rainbow.
Mr Reid
What a lovely tune. You are definitely improving. Looking forward to what you learn next.
Mrs Taylor
Thank you for your kind words, Mrs Taylor. Having the Sway to monitor my progress helps to keep me motivated to get better!
Well done mr reid it sounds great
There’s definitely an improvement, Emilee! What are your plans for this week?
Thank you, Emilee. Having my Sway helps to keep track of my progress and see the slow improvements!
i think day 35 is somewhere over the rainbow x
Good guess, Emma! π
