Mrs Matthews’ class News!!!
In the past week , Mrs Matthews’ class have been busy with technology challenges like making models. They have also been using K’NEX in preperation for the K’NEX challenge that they will be taking part in soon. This sounds like so much fun! Here are some photos of them. Primary 2-Mr Men
The Fruity Friday competition!!!
The fruity friday competition was to design a poster to encorge people to eat fruit on fridays. There was a winner for each stage and the winner for primary 7 was kirsty B and the winner for primary 6 was Lauren H. The winner for primary 5 was Lois P and the winner for primary 4 was Sophie G. the winner for primary 3 was melissa M and the winner for primary 2 was leighanna. Lastly the winner for primary 1 was Molly so well done to all the people who entered and especally to the winners.
P4’s Spider Web
The P4’s are doing scottish litariture and have made a web of poems but instead of doing “to a mouse” by Robert Burns they did “to a spider” which they each made up. I have read a few of them and they are fansatic. Also some of the photos to go with them are amazingly faboulous.

Lorna Barron poetry Competition winners
The Lorna barron Poetry competition took place on Tuesday the 31 of January. there was lots of competitors and they all did very well. In third equil was Kaitlyn and Callum then in second was Kirsty M and then in first was Kirsty B.
In the competition it was most of the primary 7’s.
Primary 5 and Primary 4 Burns celebrations
On Wednesday the partitions between the classrooms came down and P5 and P4 enjoyed an afternoon of poetry, song and dance to celebrate the birth of Robbie Burns.The haggis was piped in and addressed by children from P5/5. P4/6 recited the Selkirk grace and then it was time for juice and shortbread before the competition began. Each class had worked really hard to learn their poems, and all of the finalists did a fantastic job. The afternoon ended with a performance of Highland dancing, followed by Auld Lang Syne.

Primary two are doing a lot of Scottish things. They have already made a map of Scotland and a display.
