Chapter 4
I walked to school looking into peoples gardens as I skipped by. Some gardens were filled with gorgeous flowers, daisies and still stone statues. Some gardens were over grown, wild flowers and weeds grew anywhere there was space. Some gardens were high walled so I could not see in but I could hear fountains and rivers flowing and trees waving in the cooling breeze. I searched into the last garden just before the school gates. It was a big field around the back of the house. There stood a small herd of horses, wind blowing in their manes, their tails swishing side to side. Then one horse pure black reared and started galloping to the top of the field. I ringing sound filled my ear and I turned to see everyone pushing and shoving to get into line first. Kate came bouncing up to me, her flowing blonde hair waving in the breeze. She pulled me into line and whispered about the girl in front we both giggled. When we did maths I couldn’t think about anything else other than the herd of horses up on the hill earlier. “MILLY, PAY ATTENTION!!!!” Screamed miss Doily, everyone stared. Miss Doily was our teacher, she was always going on about how all this school work help us when we are older so we should pay attention. But most people found it just plain boring! At break I told Kate all about the horses I saw and the blackbird, The dream. Kate has horses so she found it very interesting.
