Our Class Blog

Welcome to Fetterangus P4-7 class blog!

Every student in the class is a contributor and will be adding a post or two during the year.

The idea for the blog was not only to have a go using technology but also to showcase work we’ve been doing on multiple intelligences.

Have a look around and enjoy!

Self Smart

Being Self Smart is about knowing yourself. In being Self Smart, we understand how we feel and know what we can do.

We set goals and learn from past experiences and are all always learning more about ourselves as we get older.

Below are some ways to get in some Self Smart time:

Music Smart

It’s not all about playing classical piano or having the voice of an angel. If you’ve ever sung Happy Birthday, then you have Music Smarts!

Hum tunes or tap rhythms with your hands and feet? Yup. You’re using your Music Smarts. Check out the examples below:

People Smart

People Smarts are all about, well…people. If you are a member of a family or have a friend, then you have People Smarts.

If you like working, learning, helping or being with other people at times, then you’re using this intelligence.

Nature Smart

Being Nature Smart is having a curiosity for the world around us, whether that’s bugs and rocks, clouds and weather or stars and planets.

If you have a garden, love plants or animals, dip your toes into rivers, lochs and seas, or just like walking in the outdoors, then you have got some nature smarts!

Check out our Nature Smart examples below:

Body Smart

Being Body Smart is all about movement and 3D thinking. We use our body smarts in sports, dancing and acting.

Some of us move our bodies to think, having our best ideas when we’re on the go. Being Body Smart also incorporates building 3D models with blocks, Lego or junk modelling.

Number/Logic Smart

Lots of people think of this one as being maths, but Number/Logic Smart also takes into account problem-solving, puzzles, coding and working with technology.

Ever tapped a touchscreen? Counted something? Got frustrated at a Rubix Cube? Then you were using your number smarts! Below are some examples from class:

Word Smart

Word Smart is what a lot of people think “being smart” is, but it’s only one of eight multiple intelligences we’ve been looking at in class this term.

In this post, we share some of our Word Smart work, and there’s also a list of Word Smart activities to try at home.

Picture Smart

Picture Smart peeps are not just budding Picassos, they might simply be people with huge imaginations (every child ever), think in pictures as much as (or more than) words and enjoy imagining stories in their minds.

We have some Picture Smart examples below:
