Electronics with Les and Richard

On Friday both classes had the opportunity to create electrical circuits, complete with buzzers, lights and switches. They listened carefully and followed instructions to solve a real-life problem- a flood! P1-3 set up an alarm system to protect the animals in the village zoo, whilst P4 and P5 created a household warning system to make sure all the occupants were safe. P6 and P7 were in control of the Flood Defence Command Centre. They began by working out how to make a warning siren and light, and then used a motor to raise a flood barrier in order to protect the community. Lots of learning and lots of fun had by all!

P7 Ballater

On the 21st of March the P7 from Braemar went down to Ballater to do a transition for the Academy and do a few activities to find new friendships and meet new people.

There were 5 groups and we all got a packet of cards and two strips of sellotape and one pair of scissors. Then we had to make the tallest statue.

Before we did that we got split into 2 groups and there was a big rope witch had a knot for each person and you had to untie it with one hand.

We learned about…

science and it was very fun. Also my best thing at the end of school before the bell rings on Friday is doing Golden Time. Golden time is fun because you can do what ever you want. Well not any thing- you can’t run or scream you know. We are learning about 3D shapes and I think is really fun. We are in different groups and my group is doing tiling also. I think I am doing pretty well and we get a traffic light at the bottom so we colour it red, green or orange to see if we find it easy or difficult.
