p7 transition

We left Braemar at quarter  to nine and we got driven to Aboyne in a mini bus. When we arrived at Aboyne we went to the theatre some of the s1 played some music  and s1-s3 did a musical and some s1 told us about there first year at the  academy  and there was some bagpipers.

After that we had break and then after that we split into 3 big groups and went into class rooms and did some ice breaker challenges, which were put your self in height order, surname alphabetic order and in date of birth order.

Then they split us into groups of five to  plan our board games up to lunch then after lunch we had a hour of doing more board games stuff then we went to the theatre for a  bit. Then we went back on the bus and we got back and got to play in the playground for a bit until the bell rang.

Braemar castle project

Primary 5-7 last year were tour guides around Braemar castle. We are doing it again this year with Primary 4-7. We work in partners and we pick a room with our partners that we want to guide. Me and my partner are doing the colonel’s bedroom. Last week Mrs. Baker took us round the castle to get an idea of the castle and showed us the grave yard and showed us Peter Grant’s grave.

Trip to Mar Lodge and the Quoich

What an amazing day we had for our trip! The children identified where the camera trap was from having seen the videos that had been taken and looked for and found the tracks made by the deer and wading birds. The children loved their picnic and listening to the sounds of the birds and the water. Thank you to Kim and Ben for all their help!

codapillars

P1-3 were learning about coding, movement and direction using Codapillars. The children sequenced instructions for the caterpillars and experimented with different sequences including their own and other group’s. Will their learning help them to successfully find the Easter treasure tomorrow?
