We have been learning new words, new songs and different colours with our french teacher Mr Mackay.

Some of the words we learnt was bonjour,je m’appelle Alice commont tu t’appel? Comment vas-tu? which in English is hello my name is Alice what is your name? How are you?

The colours are rouge, orange, jaune, vert, violet and bleu which in English is red, orange, yellow, green, purple and blue.we also learnt the rainbow song:

In room 3 we are writing to pen pals in France. The school is a french school in Marcenat, France. We tell them about ourselves and recently we got a tour of the most popular places in Marcenat.(By email not in real life we didn’t actually go to Marcenat.)

PE fun

March 27, 2019 by Maddalena | 3 Comments

In PE we go in groups and we go to a station in our groups and Mrs Munro our PE teacher tells us what to do . There is a trampette, beam, bench and a springboard.and we only have 2minutes to do things in  every station .  When we are on the beam we walk across it balancing all the way, when we dismount we can do whatever we like. Some of us do cartwheels and 360’s and some just jump. When we are at the springboard we run up, bounce off it onto a crash mat. When we jump off the springboard we make a shape in the air.  On the bench we either just walk, cartwheel, roly poly or jump. On the trampette we jump on it three times and then onto a mat with our feet flat and our knees bent.  We always do PE on a Thursday.

Drama Club

This club is led by Mrs Baker. We work on one play for one term, then we will perform on the last day of the term. To decide who gets the parts we put our hands up and they will play the character that they volunteered for. Then you get the script so that you can practise your lines. next week you act it out. We get dress rehearsals then at the end of the term we perform to the school and sometimes parents come.

Braemar food

Hello this is about food in our school. Fish and chips, Burgers, and hot dogs are the most popular food in our school! The  favourite pudding  is cookies or ice cream. Favourite fruit is strawberries. In the morning we choose our lunch off the board and get different coloured bands to take to lunch so that we can get the lunch we want! We have for tuck shop crackers, fruit or cake and/or juice. Tuck shop is on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Some time we do not do tuck shop because the p7 make toast or pancakes to save up for their hoodies.

Doric Film Festival

We are learning some of the Doric language to talk about our outdoor learning and our appreciation of our locality. We will be putting videos of wildlife, song and poetry together and entering the festival in May/June. We were lucky to have Doric musician and songwriter Freida Morrison and Doreen Wood helping us.

Electronics with Les and Richard

On Friday both classes had the opportunity to create electrical circuits, complete with buzzers, lights and switches. They listened carefully and followed instructions to solve a real-life problem- a flood! P1-3 set up an alarm system to protect the animals in the village zoo, whilst P4 and P5 created a household warning system to make sure all the occupants were safe. P6 and P7 were in control of the Flood Defence Command Centre. They began by working out how to make a warning siren and light, and then used a motor to raise a flood barrier in order to protect the community. Lots of learning and lots of fun had by all!
