Outdoor Learning – who do we share our playground with?

Yesterday Ben (Mar Lodge Ranger) came to school and helped to explain how we could use identification keys to identify animals and minibeasts. We then went out into the playground and had a look in some micro-habitats to see what we could find there!

Our caterpillar models

Primary 1-3 have been learning all about the life-cycle of a butterfly and using their ‘good looking’ and questioning skills to find out all about caterpillars. They created their own models of caterpillars from plasticine and added detail like the segments of the caterpillars, their ‘true’ legs and false legs.

Just over 2 weeks after their arrival the caterpillar had grown from 7mm to 4cm and changed into a chrysalis.

We wait patiently now for the metamorphosis into butterflies and hope that this happens before the summer holidays.

What kind of learner am I ?

  • As a learner,I think I am good at vocabulary because I like reading dictionaries and learning new words.
  •    My interests are climbing and reading adventures books .My qualities are funny and nice.
  • I like finding information in books, and working in a team.

I have been in Scotland for one week and a half, and I am having a great time here!

Braemar School Clubs

In Braemar School we have three  clubs. One is drama club  one is running club and the last one is tennis. At running club we usually go up in the woods and run in a big circle. some times we run at the park and play games but some times we have to run around the park . It is really fun running. When we get there we have to do exercises. Our helpers are Mr Jolly and Mrs Nixon and Mr Chamberlain.  At drama we acted out plays and make up our own plays.
