Braemar School and Nursery

On Tuesday 17th December Braemar primary went to the panto in Aberdeen. It was very cool we enjoyed it. The show was Cinderella but the stepmother was nice to Cinderella witch didn’t happen in the disney version.  There was a character called Buttons he was very crazy but it was sad when he saw Cinderella with the prince because he loved her. The dame was very … well, there isn’t words to describe her/him.  We really enjoyed it so we hope we go next year.

This term we were singing at the Fife arms and Kindrochit court. The songs we sang were away in a manger,Mary had a baby yes lord,Mary had a baby ,all I want for Christmas is my two front teeth and when santa got stuck up chimney. For away in a manger  we did sign language.We all felt nervous but we all had fun.

We had a fair at 10-11:30 AM on Tuesday last week. We made decorations, food, dog treats, labels, gift wrap, ect.  We found out how to run a business and came up with our own company name and logo. The name of our company was Little Elves Ltd. We spent ages designing and creating the things we were selling and decorating our stalls. On the day of the fair, there was way more people than we expected. It was very exciting for everyone as we were kept busy and were never bored. At 10 O’clock we sang for everyone. When we finished singing we went through to our stalls. Almost everything sold out and we made a profit! It was very fun. We think the people who came enjoyed it too! We made over £500! Our favourite part was making the food. We also enjoyed selling it all.    By Maddalena and Kaitlin

Our project this year was to open our own business and we were selling Santa pom-poms,wreaths, waffle lolly, marshmallow snowmen, reindeer poo, face pant and tattoos, gift tags, wrapping paper, dog treats also eco bags and stars. It was on Tuesday 10th of December 2019. It was so fun and we will love to do it again and also we made a big profit of over £500.

Primary 1-3 have been learning about  old and new toys including pull back cars and wind up toys work  

they have also been making a present for there families (it’s a secret) and have been learning how a solid 

turns into a liquid and then gas. They have enjoyed learning about it so far. 

This week Rm 3 received their first message from our Book Penpal, Lexi Rees, author of Eternal Seas. She told us that she’s currently reading  The Accidental Time Traveller by Janis Mackay, and she gave us a challenge. She asked us to write about a time travelling mechanism- how might someone travel through time? For our ‘Connect 4’ comprehension task we talked about all the time-travelling  ideas we’ve read  about or seen in films- Dr Who’s Tardis, Back to the Future’s DeLorean car, Biff, Chip and Kipper’s Magic Key and lots more.

Then we set to work. A few people managed to get their ideas onto the blog this afternoon, but the rest will follow early next term. Hopefully Lexi will find time to read a few of the ideas- they might even give her ideas for her next book!

As John walked deeper into the maze of rusty and demolished cars he came to a corner. There was a 1970 chevy nova a little rust on the arches, but the rims they were so big it looked like there was a jet engine behind it! When John paid for the car it was only £150 bargain! He got onto the motorway as he was driving 200 miles back to Glasgow. As he was rummaging through the glove box he found a CD that was called top 50 greatest club anthems. He thought this will pass the time.He put the CD in the stereo. It was so loud who ever had this car must have been a raver. He turned it down from 100 volume to 30 but he turned up the bass.It was only 50 miles to Glasgow suddenly one song came on and the car started sounding like a jet engine. The wheel folded. John was in an internal vortex!!! Ahhh whats happening?

Chapter 2  This is not 1997

John time travelled from 1997 to 1902 everyone was looking at his car. A little girl said that car looks so modern!

I was in my house watching youtube on my phone and I saw a video about looking in your  house to find secret rooms. I watched more and it showed me some places the hidden rooms could be, like  behind a painting or in a loft or in an old closet  . So I put all the information together and went looking . I went to sleep thinking where should I look now. I  LOOKED Everywhere! Wait I did not look in the garage. I thought I should stay in bed but Na Lets go! I called my friend to come to my house . He asked my mom if it was OK to come over. We went to the garage and we looked and looked . We found some old boxes and guess what I made? I made a robot suit  for me and my friend so we went inside, and we played for a while . We played and played and then suddenly a cool scanner came up at my face like a laptop screen.In the middle there was one big button and it said teleport and it was flashing red . I tried to take the helmet off but it was too late.It sent me through loads of portals and I landed and it felt like bubblegum.

I was playing a game called apex legends and there is a girl called wraith.She has a machine on her arm. It makes her vision goes purple and where she ends a purple portal appears.  If she started but she can go back in it.It is really good when she sees an enemy she can use the portal and her squad can help her but she has another power that she can go really fast.
