School at home

I have been doing way more online activities since the lock down. I still have been  talking to my friends by skype .Its fun but at the same time its not , because  it would be good to see friends face to face. I have done some literacy and maths. my favourite was doing the safe online activity.

Home school

I think doing school at home is kind of fun. Although I do miss my friends and I get distracted easily. I am getting as much work done as I can.

World Book Day

Primary 1-3 enjoyed lots of learning linked to World Book Day including a story at assembly, reading with friends, a library treasure hunt and talking about their favourite books. We then did a ‘book swap’ and got an opportunity to read our friend’s  favourite books. A surprise at the end of the day was the highlight! Better late than never! 😀

Symmetry and Snowflakes

P1-3 were learning about symmetry by creating their own patterns. We spoke about lines of symmetry and all children were able to identify at least one line of symmetry if not more.

Measurement in the snow

We made the most of the snow by using rulers to measure snow in the playground. We were looking for the deepest snow and wondered if there would be more or less snow in the afternoon. The snow was 26.5 cm deep in the morning and 22.5 cm deep in the afternoon. We spoke about why this was.

We are excited about our new context for learning – The Weather.

Recorder Masterclass

Well done to the Recorder Masterclass who have learnt how to hold the recorder and play some notes. Some of the older children have managed to learn a tune or two. They have all made a lot of progress and I hope you continue to play in the future.

primary 1-3’s building project

On Thursday 23rd of January  primary 1-3 started a building project. They will do the project for 6 weeks on the first week they were studying what buildings were made of. They found out that they were made of bricks, clay, reeds, stones, wood, mud and turf. They had help from a lady called Sian. On week 2 they learnt how to build houses and used pretend mortar to glue the mini bricks together. They used clay and stones to build walls and used paper bricks to build walls with no lines of weakness. Yesterday they were making arches and looking at shapes .They still have  4 more weeks to finish their project and they look forward to learning more.
