Some of the new Eco group were helping out on Thursday lunch time to get some plants into the polytunnel. A while ago we put in a request for perennials to use as a more sustainable option for our outside planters. We’re going to ask Mrs Wheeler to help us put them into our boxes next week.
New Eco Group getting busy
The Eco group ran the Big Schools Birdwatch yesterday. We didn’t see a lot of birds but quite a range of species. Well done to the Eco group for organising and well done to the whole school who came out to help.
Going for green soon
Just getting the last bits of evidence to submit our application for our Green Flag Award

Biodiversity Live Lesson
We did another live lesson with KeepScotlandBeautiful. Exploring the connection between biodiversity and climate change.
School Pond?
We attended a live lesson today about how to make a pond and the biodiversity it attracts. We are seriously considering it for one of our projects for next term’s Eco group. The lesson was given by Froglife
Plastic
We did a live lesson about plastic on Monday with Keep Scotland Beautiful. We Learned the good and the bad. On Friday we have our first PLASTIC FREE FRIDAY.
Autumn Apples
We only planted our apple tree a few months ago but we’ve already gotten some fruit from it:
These are Lady Sudeley apples. Mrs Wheeler is going to add them to a crumble on Friday so we can all get a wee taste. Yum.
Nature Art
L
We made some nature art using only materials we found on the ground around the woods.
Lifecycle of a butterfly
Caitlin has been growing butterflies from their first stages as a chrysalis right through. Here are some pictures of their life cycle. Great work Caitlin, finding out more about the diversity of creatures in the world, and thanks for sharing with us.
