Formartine Beginning to Blossom Award

We got an award from the Formartine Rural Partnership. They came out to have a look at all the things the eco group have been up to in 2026. A few members of the pupil eco group and our eco parents gave them an enthusiastic tour of the polytunnel and the school grounds.

Here is the letter that we got:

I am delighted to let you know that Arnage School has been awarded a

Silver Gilt Award, achieving an impressive 81 points out of 100.

This is a fantastic achievement and is a lovely recognition of the time, effort and enthusiasm that went into taking part in the event. We would like to present the school with a certificate, along with a monetary award (to be paid to the parent council)… It would be wonderful to celebrate the achievement with the pupils and staff and recognise everyone who contributed to making Beginning to Blossom such a success.

Squash, pumpkins, tomatoes all gone in.

Look at our seed snails now. We could see all the roots when we unrolled them.

Parsnips, carrots, lettuce, tomatoes

We watered our seed snails, some ar starting to show shoots.

Then we planted basil and chives in the polytunnel.

We had Eric and Jude’s mums in today and planned some of our planting activities for the rest of the year.

We went outside and made seed snails to start tomatoes and peppers.

Big thanks to Eric and Harper’s mums. We’ve planted loads of veg, and today we planted flowers for wildlife.

We do pretty well at keeping litter in the bin at our school but there’s always some tidying up to do.
