Week 1
We all signed up and promised to do our best for the Eco Committee. We spoke about why we wanted to be on the committee
Week 2
We looked at the Green Flag award website and watched a video about it. We spoke about some of the things we could do
Week 3
We signed up to the Green Flag Award scheme. Some of us went to the polytunnel with Mrs Wheeler to pick the vegetables we still had left and tidy up
Week 4
We divided into groups and started our whole school Environmental survey.
Week 5
We completed the surveys and told each other what we had discovered
Week 6
We told the rest of the school and the parents about our survey and what we had found out. We also completed the Survey section on the Green Flag website
Week 7
We started to talk about what could go in our action plan. We found out a bit more about each of the ten areas and what we could do. We narrowed it down to four areas that we thought we needed to work on. We also started making paper leaves for the border of our noticeboard
Week 8
We interviewed two parents and invited them to join the committee. They had some good ideas about what we could do – wormery, organise a litter pick, a campaign about parking with your engine on.
Week 9
We decided on our three areas: Litter and Waste, Biodiversity, Climate Action. We started to think about what things we could do in these areas and began designing posters for our noticeboard to let the rest of the school know what we are doing.
