Room 12 makes chocolate oatcakes for Room 4i

Our topic was World War Two so we made chocolate oatcakes from a WW2 recipe. The recipe was written in ounces and we had to use lard instead of margerine. Before we started we washed our hands. We measured the ingredients and mixed them together with our hands. We rolled out the mixture and cut circles with cutters. We pricked the circles with a fork. We greased the trays to stop the biscuits from sticking to the trays. We shared them with room 4 from the infant building.

  2. I have tried Chocolate Oatcakes! We used the WW2 receipe. For me they didn’t look really good, but the taste of them was good. Their shape was circle, the colour was brown. They didn’t come up what I thought they are going to be like. They tasted a bit too salty… And a bit too dry outside but soft inside. They smelled a bit like chocolate, I didn’t like the smell of them from the beginning, but I liked the smell of them when they were done! They were good because they had chocolate in them! I love chocolate oatcakes!

  3. I have tried some Chocolate Oat Cakes which is a WW2 recipe. They were brown and you could see some oats, they were round with some flower on the top. They weren’t what I expected because I thought they wouldv’e been like normal oatcakes with chocolate chips through it. They tasted salty but I didn’t taste much of the chocolate. They smelled of chocolate which was a nice smell. There texture was soft like a brownie, In the end I only ate half because they were too salty for me. I would give them a seven out of ten.

  4. I tried some WWII based chocolate oatcakes! When I first got it, it was a brown,,thin and circular chocolate oat cake. It had white bits in it which were the oats. I expected a white oat cakes with chocolate chips in it. It smelt like a bar of chocolate which I love! When I bit in, it was surprisingly soft, like a brownie. It didn,5t quite taste like chocolate, but it still tasted nice. It was quite dry though, and I needed a lot of water to wash it down. Overall, very good.

    Appearance – 4/5 Taste – 4/5 Smell – 5/5

  8. I tasted some World War Two receipe, chocolate oat cakes. They looked quite good when I first saw them. They were dark brown with oats sticking out the top. Some of them were really thin but some of them were really thick. They were not what I expected them to be. I thought it was going to look very crunchy but it didn’t. When I tasted the first one was good but the second one had far too much chocolate and far too much salt. The second one wasn’t good at all. The smell was quite nice in the oven but when they were cold you couldn’t really smell them. They were alright but I wouldn’t make them at home because they are not really my thing.

  10. I tried some chocolate oatcakes and the recipe was from WW2. I thought they tasted very nice. They tastes like chocolate brownies but they were in the shape of a biscuit. I thought myself they tastes a little bit salty but the softer ones were better than the harder ones. The harder ones were more dry than the soft ones…

we made them for room 4 in the infant building and most of them liked them

  11. I tried some oat cakes and i thought they tasted really good. We all had lots of fun making them i think! I really enjoyed eating them even though they were on the salty side a little bit. They are just like a choclate brownie with lots of crushed oats. After i had two i began to need a drink. We must of used to much salt. well a least the p2/3 liked them! we got the ingredints from a nearby shop.
