Murroes Values

With the help of staff, pupils and parents we have created our new school values. The children helped to design the new badge shown above. We use these values regularly during our conversations and assemblies but they run through everything we do here at Murroes.

Every week we choose children who have gone ‘Over and Above’ these expectations and they get to come and have a chat and a hot chocolate with the Head Teacher.

Friday Club in Primary 4

In Primary 4 for Friday club we have been learning about jute, jam and journalism. We drew and designed our own marmalade. We also went through a PowerPoint presentation showing us the jam designs through the years.

Cross Country Competition

On Friday 31st January, Jo Whaite, the active schools coordinator came in with Louise, a long distance runner and her mascot Captain Coo. When she was in we did a cross country race between each year.  Louise then showed us where she was going, what she was carrying and lots of other interesting things about her trip on cycle route No 1.
Good luck to Louise!

Lucy’s Blue Day

https://www.lucysblueday.com/

On Friday the 7th of February 2020, the author of Lucy’s Blue Day came to our school. His name is Chris Duke. He read us his story and talked to us about our mental health. He also shared his own story of wanting to be an author, a dad, a wrestler and a DJ. He ended up doing all these things, including going on a TV show called This Time Next Year.

We learned that it’s ok to not be ok.
