Hello,
We are the JLT and here is some information about the work we do in school.
Our main responsibility is to help the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to develop and improve our school. We help to share the views of pupils by consulting children across the school to ensure all opinions and views are included within our work.
One of the things we have done so far is to create our school Learning Heroes. These are small monsters that support us and improve our attitudes towards learning. They focus on 7 attitudes which form part of their names
We have also helped Mrs Reid choose a Learning Pit for the school. Our Learning Pit is called ‘The Emoji Stairs of Learning’. It helps us within a lesson to reflect on our learning and share if we are understanding or where we are on our learning journey.
Currently we are working on creating WAGOLLs (What a good one looks like) for lessons and plan to use these during our Learning Walks to feedback what learners experience throughout the school.
We are also creating ‘A Logie Learner’ to share what they would look like, sound like and think like.
We feel we are excellent role models to the other children but also that our work is helping to make role models by improving attitudes to learning and the way we think about learning. Through the learning tools we are helping pupils understand their learning more, motivating learners to be the best they can be and hopefully we are making learning more fun.
Never fear the JLT are here!
