Positive Psychology

Positive Psychology is a branch of Psychology that specifically looks at applied approaches to optimal human flourishing.  Positive Psychology is grounded in the belief that people want to lead meaningful and fulfilling lives, to cultivate what is best within them, and to enhance their experiences of love, work, and play (Positive Psychology Centre, 2016).  We are committed to introducing Positive Psychology approaches and interventions, in order to promote mental health and wellbeing in Angus.  We often use Positive Psychology interventions within our consultation and casework. Building upon the principles of Positive Psychology, a Staff Wellbeing Module has been developed for school staff.  In addition, a Positive Psychology Programme is being created to meet the needs of Foster Carers.
