The updated version of Angus Council’s Dyslexia and Inclusive Practice Procedures was released in November 2025.
This revision includes the updated Scottish working definition of dyslexia, and places an emphasis on the following:-
- Creating inclusive teaching approaches and learning environments for all learners;
- Considering whether learners have had access to appropriate learning opportunities before identifying dyslexia;
- Encouraging contextual assessment that highlights strengths as well as areas of need;
- Consulting with parents/carers and learners throughout the process.
