Book Week Scotland will be taking place from the 21st November – 27th November throughout Scotland, to encourage people especially school pupils to read and write. Each year they have a few competitions, so here’s a list of the various competitions that you can enter:
50 Word Fiction Competition
This is in partnership with the Daily Record and is designed for people who aren’t comfortable about creative writing. On the website is an image and based on that image you must write a story just 50 words. Click here for more information.
Books to Screen Vote
This is a vote compiled by the Scottish Book Trust where you can vote for your favourite screen adaptation of a book, written by a Scottish author or set in Scotland. To view the shortlist and vote click here.
Local Events
During the week there will be lots of authors visiting various places. In Angus we have three events happening:
Mae Stewart visits Monifieth Library to discuss her books set in Dundee.
Doug Johnstone visits Arbroath Library to discuss and read some of his novels.
Polly Pullar visits Forfar Library to share with people who photographs and books she has written.
