This week we learned about Roman mosaic. The Romans used mosaic patterns to decorate floors. Mosaic was made out of stones and usually made a pattern or picture.
We looked at examples of Roman mosaic and made our own colourful mosaic designs.
For topic Primary 3 are learning about the Romans. This week we explored Roman soldiers, what they wore and the weapons they had.
We have also been exploring emotions and different emotion words. Primary three designed their own Corona-coasters to show the range of emotions they have felt during lockdown.
Today we celebrated World Book day! Primary 3 made some animal masks and we thought about different books with animals as the main characters.The masks looked fantastic! Take a look at the photos and see if you can guess who is behind each mask?
We also had some fun making origami bookmarks. This involved listening carefully to instructions and careful folding.
Primary 3 have settled in really well since returning to school and have been working really hard!
Today we had a lovely afternoon outside doing PE. We practised our throwing and catching to help develop our hand eye co-ordination.

Primary 3 have created a beautiful Christmas candle window display to brighten up the dark nights! Look out for it if you are passing the school in the dark.
We have been busy making some beautiful paper flowers to send to one of the residents at Summerhill Care Home. We hope they like them and it brightens their day!
We have had a busy week learning the ‘tch’ sound, learning about speech marks and learning how to carry in an adding chimney sum.
We have also been busy doing lots of lovely art! We had fun making our own scratch art firework pictures. They looked lovely and colourful.
We also painted poppies on stones which will be displayed at Hazlehead Park for Remembrance Day. If you are at Hazlehead Park you might see them. They look amazing! We also made some lovely poppy pictures.
