This week our CLIC targets are:
C – I can read 2 digit multiples of 10
L – I know the number bonds to 10
0+10, 10+0
1+9, 9+1
2+8, 8+2
I – I can find the missing piece to 10
e.g 3 + ? = 10
C – I can add numbers of objects within 10
e.g for 3+7, encourage the child to think of this as 7+3. Have them start at 7 and count on 3 more.

We’ve had another successful week in primary 2!
This week we have been learning about number bonds to 10 in class and at home – we’re getting really good at these!
We’ve also been revising some single sounds and have been using these in our spelling test.
Tomorrow is Diwali – the Hindu Festival of Light – we learned about some Diwali traditions and heard the story of Rama and Sita. Today we made some diya pots out of clay!
Gabi has been chosen as the playground star this week. He has been very helpful to the PSA’s – keep up the great work Gabi!
McKenzie has been chosen as pupil of the week! He has been challenging himself in his learning and is a very enthusiastic learner! Well done McKenzie!
Sienna is our pupil of the week! She has been working so hard in class and is always kind to her classmates! Well done Sienna, keep it up!
Keiran is the playground star this week! He has been joining in and playing very nicely with his classmates and even made a wonderful obstacle course! Well done Keiran!
This week in primary 2 we have been busy! We have continued to learn about repeating patterns in maths. We even went outside and made some human patterns – see if you can work out what the pattern is in each picture!
We also learned about why we celebrate Bonfire Night on the 5th of November every year. We learned about Guy Fawkes and created some bonfire art of our own!
Next week we are going to learn about Remembrance Day!
Joseph is this week’s playground star. He was chosen because he always makes sure to include others in his games. Keep it up Joseph!
