ROOM 2 TALK

Hello My Name is Jackie The school Counsellor.

I am located where the first aid room used to be. Please feel free to call in to see me at any time if you feel the need to talk or just need time for you.

My room is a safe and relaxing area, where everything is treated with the upmost respect and confidentiality. I am there every day Monday to Friday 8.25am to 3.25pm. You can also see me as a drop in at lunch times from 12.40 until 1.35. If I am not in my room 2 talk I will be in the games room, please feel free to come and get me and we can go to room2talk.

It is a place where you can come and explore your own thoughts, feelings, worries and concerns, even if you think these are the smallest of issues, because to you these are important.

I am not here to judge you in any way at all.

If you do not like to talk very much we can do crafts, such as

  • Painting/art and crafts
  • Finger puppets
  • Rice play therapeutic
  • Colouring/drawing
  • Memory jars
  • Chalk and salt
  • games

These are just a few of the things that may interest you.

Feel free to email me or text me if you would like to?

Communication by Xpressions app

Communications with Parents/Carers

Communication by Xpressions app

One of our main communication methods with parents is by sending messages by text.  This can be quite costly and we are therefore looking at alternative methods of communication.  One method is via a mobile application called Xpressions.

What is Xpressions, what are Xpressions?

Xpressions is a service, providing parents with an app to receive messages from the school.

The app is available on iOS and Android, with plans to bring it to a web browser soon.

How does the app work?

The app receives messages, called Xpressions, sent from the school. They are similar to WhatsApp or iMessage, being transmitted over the internet rather than SMS text messages. Thousands of schools are using Xpressions, swapping out SMS and saving money in the process of communicating with their parents.

How do I get set up?

When schools sign up to use Xpressions, they automatically create an account for each parent to log in. Rather than using a username and password system, Xpressions uses information that parents will always remember- their email address and mobile phone number.  You just have to make sure that your child’s school has the correct email address and mobile phone number for you.

While logged in, parents will receive a notification on their phone when a new Xpression has been sent to them from the school.

What can I do once I’m logged in?

Within Xpressions, parents can access all messages that have been sent to them by the school.

How do I download the app?

Go to http://parents.groupcall.com/setup/account-registration/ for information on how to download the app and log onto Xpressions

We will be promoting the use of the Xpressions app at parents nights etc and hope that a lot of parents/carers will opt to receive messages this way to enhance communication and reduce costs.
