This week we have delved into an early edition of our school magazine – Town Top Times. In 1961 first year pupil Colin MacRonald wrote a poem about his school.
Our School
The can speak about the “Gordons”,
An’ the Grammar School sae braw,
Torry, Powis, Ruthrieston,
An’ Cumming Park an a’
But gie tae me the braw new school,
Built wi’ sic a fine design,
The bonny school up on the hill
NORTHFIELD – school o’ mine
Now, there’s some fine schools aroon’ the Don,
An’ some aroon the Dee,
But I’m sure there’s no’ anither school,
Wi’ sic a-mer-it-ee
As we enjoy at NORTHFIELD,
The best school o’ them a’
There’s time for work an’ time for play,
An’ time to kick a ba’.
So, they can speak about the “Gordons”,
An’ the Grammar School sae braw,
Torris, Powis, Ruthrieston,
An’ Cummings Park an a’
But gie tae me the good old school,
Where we a’ got on sae fine,
In future, I’ll be proud to boast,
That NORTHFIELD SCHOOL was mine.

This week we go back to June 1989 when the S3 Social and Vocational Skills class went on a 5 day camp to the Combruith Scottish Crusader Centre in Comrie.
The itinerary listed trips to Caithness Glass, Lochearnhead, a safari park visit and Loch Tay. Evening entertainment included several discos, a beetle drive and bingo sessions.
A note on the photograph suggests that this was the very first SVS residential stay trip.
The pupils in this photograph will now all be around 40/41 years of age. Do you recognise anyone?
This week we feature the 1970-71 Rugby Team. Do you recognize anyone in this photograph?
