The children have been very busy learning about Katie Morag and the Island she lives on. We have explored the Island of Struay and identified the main features on a map. There are lots of features including a lighthouse, loch and a castle.
We have also been busy creating a Katie Morag wall display. So far we have made our own Katie Morag and have been busy painting the features of the island.
Last week the children enjoyed the school Ceilidh where they performed the dance “The Prince of Orange”. They also got to watch the other classes perform their dances too! The children also learned a Scottish poem “Mince and Tatties” and some of them performed it at Assembly or in front of the class.
Finally, last week the children also got the opportunity to develop their football skills with the Red Start programme. They had lots of fun dribbling and playing games with a football.
