Busy Bees!!!!

Hi everyone another busy week for the Bees.

On Thursday we helped Caitlin celebrate St Patrick’s Day by making Irish flags and necklaces.  We went to the Dining Room to do some Irish dancing and had a parade, marching while playing our musical instruments.

Friday saw us take part in an obstacle course for Sports Relief.  The Bees managed to raise £21 for charity.  Thanks you all for your support.

We have been designing and making our own Easter Bonnets for our Easter Parade on Thursday.

The children have all decorated a boiled egg with a variety of art and craft materials and made them all look special.  We went out to the Playground to roll them until they cracked(some took longer than others) The Easter Bunny came and left some eggs for us hidden in the Wildlife Garden. Did anyone see him? He was too quick for us.

We had our Easter Parade on Thursday but we had a slight wardrobe malfunction so instead  of wearing our Bonnets on our head(they kept slipping off!!!) we had them on our backs. So Primary 1 room 5 came to watch our Easter Backpack Parade instead but they still thought we looked great . Well done everyone.

The children have been investigating some science with the expanding water beads in the water tray, pouring, sieving, measuring and observing. Adam noticed “I put them in the water and they grew bigger and bigger.” Isaac said ” They feel slimy and cold.” Ellie said ” They are squashy- gooshie”

We had a visit from Miss Aitken’s Room 5 children who came to read their own book “We’re going on a Dinosaur Hunt”. The Bees really admired Rm 5’s work and chose their favourite dinosaurs and pictures.Lily was particularly proud to have her big brother, Max come to read.

The Busy Bee Song

The children took turns of being the bee or the honey pot. They suggested different positions for the bee to follow and they also practised counting, putting one finger up for each number. Lots of excited buzzing!image

Busy bees!

Hi everyone!

The bees have been extremely busy as usual. On Friday the children took part in paired reading with the older children throughout the school, bringing in their favourite book for them to read to them. The boys and girls really enjoyed it!

We went to the wildlife garden on Tuesday instead of wheeled toys due to the snow! Thank you for continuing to bring helmets with Aberdeen’s unpredictable weather. We always try to go outside even if the toys are not an option!

On Wednesday we managed to venture over to our woodies as we had the help and support from Fiona (Anna’s mum) and Sandra (Lucy’s mum). We are so grateful and want to thank you on behalf of the children for signing up multiple times. They enjoyed using the different resources, particularly rolling the hula hoops all the way down the hill and chasing after them. Please remember to sign up for the woodies each week if you are able to! We cannot go without you. We are aware this can be difficult and so would like to express family members are welcome too!

The children have spent some time through at the dining hall and participated well in ziggy activities with our student Caitlin.

Science activities have been implemented this week. It is lovely to see the children’s enthusiasm in experimenting and finding out the wonders of the world. Our magnet table and water funnels have proven popular.

I would like to say a huge thank you to parents and family members who have brought in treasure for our treasure box! The children have been excited and are proud to have contributed to the nursery.

As always, please remember library books! We wouldn’t want anyone to miss out!

Spring is here!!

Hello everyone!  The children have had another busy week in nursery.

The children have been helping to replant the Spring bulbs out of the outside planters into the smaller ones in preparation for the upgrade of the nursery garden.

We didn’t manage to go to the Woodies this week as we didn’t have enough helpers. Please add your name to the helper list if you can help. So  on Wednesday the children had great fun at the Wildlife Garden instead. There was lots of “fishing “going on with our ribbon fishing rods and stick fish.
