Weaving stories

  • Hi everyone the Bees have been very busy again. We have been creating our own patterns with the threading pens. We managed to use our fine motor skills to sew lines, shapes and mazes.

On Wednesday we went to the Woodies where we had fun with the Talking Tubes . We talked into the phone part and listened when our friends talked back to us.  Some of us hid behind the trees with our tubes.

We threaded ribbons through the wicker numbers.

It was a windy day so we were able to fly our bag kites again.  They flew really high!!!

Fun in the sun.

Hello everyone,

The Bees have been taking advantage of the fabulous, sunny weather to do lots of outdoor learning. On Monday we explored the gym trail, working especially on our balance. The children then made their own frog face on their cupcakes that Olivia and Archie helped to bake and then we had snack at the outside picnic tables.

Wheeled toys with the Grasshoppers was an ideal opportunity to learn about sharing space as we had scooters, bikes, pedal carts, buggies and the new space hoppers. Our new children were keen to observe and then to try out their skills.

Midweek, thanks to our two stalwart helpers, Sandra (Lucy’s mum) and Fiona (Anna’s mum) we managed to spend all our nursery time at the Woodies. The children were excited to help build their own den. They made tube shakers with recycled cardboard and natural materials from the trees and ground. Then they decorated them and of course, tried them out!

Thursday was joint play in the Wildlife Garden. There were many activities to choose from. They were ‘Make a Lollipop, Pop Goes the Froggie, beanbag practice, planting sunflower seeds and gardening or using the chalk grabber and compass. Wow, Busy Bees for sure!
