Bees

Hi everyone, it has been another busy week with the Bees!

On Friday, Luda led the children to do some actions/dance to some Interactive songs in various languages.

We have also been learning some new number and action songs. Nicole taught us ‘Ten Little Indian Boys and Girls so we could practise counting forwards and backwards from 1-5 or to 10. Some of our Bees are now confident to sing solo to the rest of the group who are learning how to be a good audience.

The pirate ship has caused a great deal of excitement, triggering a lot of expressive and imaginative language. Ooooh Aargh,

We decided not to go to the Woodies this week but to a smaller coned area, especially for our newer children. The others have been helping them to follow the safety rules and to practise our “walking in twos” before we go out again to the busy street. We also had a joint “free-flow play”  in the nursery, nursery garden and in the infant playground instead of the wheeled toys to help settle our new -starts and to accustom them to being in larger groups.

Finally, just a reminder that tomorrow is Library Day.

Chinese New Year and Valentine’s Day!

Hello everyone!

This week the bees have been very busy! At the start of the week we celebrated Chinese New Year by enjoying sweet and sour rice for snack and many art activities including Chinese writing, Chinese fans and beautiful Chinese lanterns. I’m sure they haven’t gone unnoticed.

We were excited to get outside on Tuesday for wheeled toys again and Wednesday for our woodies! Thank you to Lisa (Lucas’s mum) and Camilla (Joey’s mum) for helping! It’s much appreciated!  We enjoyed making bag kites in the wind.

This week we have also been making Valentine’s Day cards for our loved ones. Please look forward to receiving these tomorrow!

Please remember to bring your library books tomorrow!

We hope everyone has a lovely time off next week and we look forward to seeing you all when we come back!

Birdwatching and Mud Kitchen

Hello everyone

This week we have been involved in the Big Garden Birdwatch at the Woodies.  Thanks Fiona (Anna’s mum) for helping us.  We brought some bird food, bread and our binoculars and had to try tokeep really still and quiet, then we counted the birds we saw and ticked them on our tick sheet.
