A week in pictures…A.M nursery.

We have a display inside (on wet days) and outside (on dry days) for our Autumn display.

Learning skills in the mud kitchen.

Making Halloween potions with our pumpkins.

We all made Halloween head bands.

We carved and named our pumpkins “Star & Moon!”

The Pumpkin Potions were disgusting. Yet super fun. We made them bubble and explode with different colors!

We enjoyed an Autumn walk and found more things for our display table.

We made spiced orange play dough, and lots of art work.

It was a busy first week back at nursery.  We also have been having lots of warm snacks. All homemade and with fresh produce.

Remember to send us your pictures of Halloween or Autumn.

Thank you

What have we been doing in afternoon nursery?

We have been having lots of fun this week, decorating, exploring and carving pumpkins.

We were using our fine motor skills to explore the inside of a pumpkin, the boys and girls thought they looked like spider webs, and using the seeds in our home corner. The children decided they wanted to decorate the pumpkin instead of carving it. The children chose the colours of paint and added some glitter to make it extra “special.” The children worked as part of a team to completely cover the pumpkin in paint, taking turns when it was necessary.

Due to the rather wet weather we came inside for the second half of the session, and enjoyed playing with different equipment. A new favourite is the matching meerkat game. Some of the children were matching the meerkats to what teacher they thought they could be. There was many variations, and we even matched some to our friends.

This is one of our favourite songs to listen to this week as we have been talking about emotions and how we are feeling.

Have a lovely weekend!!

Painting Spiders in the morning.

The morning nursery enjoyed painting spiders today. Most of the children came to make their own painting. They all had to use their fine motor skills to use the pompom to paint their spiders bodies and a stick to paint the spiders legs. Counting out the legs of each spider was hard work. Some spiders at the end only had two legs.

The children enjoyed displaying their art work on the wall and the teacher hung them up for the parents to take home at pick up time.

Please keep an eye for any pictures that are to be picked up when the gallery is up.  Feel free to admire the other pictures too.

PM- Exploring pumpkins

The afternoon nursery have been having fun exploring pumpkins this week. So far we have helped carve the top of the pumpkin to have a look inside. We used our sense of touch to help scoop out the inside of the pumpkin and play with the guts. We then used our sense of smell to decide whether we liked the smell or not using thumbs up or thumbs down.

We will carve another pumpkin later on in the week, after we have chosen which kind of features we want to pumpkin to have.

AM Pumpkin Fun!

The morning nursery carved a pumpkin today. They had to take turns and cut and shape the pumpkin as well as scooping out all the innards.

This week we have been reading stories and discussing Autumn. We have spoken about the leaves falling and changing colors as well as the conkers falling.

Please feel free to share your pictures from home on I.L.D or send a picture to your child’s Key worker.

Thank you.
