Today we had our Crazy Hair Day that the children requested during our hairdresser role play. Thank you to all the families for their support and time to make this happen. There were lots of fun hairstyles on show.
The children looked spectacular dressed-up in their costumes. It was really difficult to choose who had the best costume.
After much deliberation the ‘best costume’ winners were:
Morning Nursery: A caterpillar from ‘Ten Wriggly, Wiggly Caterpillars’ by Debbie Tarbett
and
Afternoon Nursery: The prize cow from ‘What the Ladybird Heard’ by Julia Donaldson
The children made pancakes for snack today. They were enjoyed by all.
This week at nursery we had our very own Burns supper and Scottish dancing in the gym.
The children have been learning about Scotland. They decided they wanted to make a castle they could fit into.
Some of the other children, built their castles using the wooden blocks
.
This week in nursery the children have been having some Halloween Fun.
We came to nursery in fancy dress.
Each class made their own pumpkin lantern, taking great care when using the carving tools.
The children participated in lots of different art and craft activities.
We had great fun trying to eat our dough-rings at snack time!
The children did a great job ducking for their apples.
We hope you all have a happy and safe Halloween.
This week in nursery the children made hedgehog bread and harvest soup for snack.
The children were really proud of how their bread turned out.
The following day the children made harvest soup. They concentrated hard to make sure they cut the vegetables safely.
As you can see the hedgehog bread and harvest soup was a big success and most of the children gave it a big thumbs up.
This week in nursery the children have been exploring the items they collected on their Autumn Nature Hunt in a variety of ways. They have made leaf faces, a group art work Jackson Pollock style, leaf printing and investigating them.
The children also had lots of fun playing in the leaf pile they made in the Nursery garden.
The children did well on the sponsored walk today. They walked well with their friends round the playground and had lots of fun on the Play-dale equipment after.
