In January, P6 and P7 kicked things of with a Burn’s Supper. They served traditional haggis, neeps and tatties, read the Address tae a Haggis and performed many traditional dances, songs and tales. The rest of the school learned about scottish literature in this week – just ask P3/4 how scary Tam O’ Shanter is!
In March we had World Book Day celebrations to think about. Kaimhill School dressed entirely in pyjamas as if we were ready for a bedtime story. The classes each created a window in Literacy Lane for children to enjoy while lining up. These ranged from “The Smartest Giant in Town” to “Aliens in Underpants”. There were 4 different castle challenges on the day too.
The first was a Literacy Quick – tricky!
Another challenge was to make Gruffalo or Willy Wonka puppets – creative!
The third challenge was to write and perform a drama based fairytale – brave!
The last challenge was to write a group story.
For the infants, a storyteller came and told stories in a cozy, snuggly tent outisde – intresting!
And that was all before sport relief!
Keep looking up here to see Sports Relief and Easter photos and what is happening in the fourth term – Sports Week, Parents’ Evenings, outdoor learning, trips…The list is endless!
