Calling all budding authors! The Wicked Young Writers’ Award is FREE to enter and entries can range from any genre including stories, poems, drama and can even include illustrations. Congratulations to all members of the Junior Reading Group who took part in the WBD film, and many thanks to Mrs Urquhart, Mr Hogg and last, but not least, Mr Murray for donating their time and acting talents to our production. We won a storytelling workshop with Bea Ferguson, and gift vouchers worth £250 from John Lewis. You can see what happened in the following clip.

I’ve just set up our Scholastic Book Club school group order online. This means you can now order all the books in your Book Clubs leaflet and many more at http://clubs-school.scholastic.co.uk/harlaw-academy and, what’s more, you’ll be able to have your books delivered to school for FREE!
You need to order your books online by Wednesday 15th February 2012 (cheque and cash orders will only be accepted until Friday 10th February). After that date, I’ll confirm that all orders are in and the books will be delivered to school for me to hand out in class. For every £1 you spend 20p goes back to our school to spend on much-needed books for our library!

The new S2 have been working hard with Miss Lawrence and Mr McKee in history to create a display of the Scots they believe are truly great. It’s not all the usual suspects either.
