This week we’ll be showing They Shall Not Grow Old –
– Peter Jackson’s new film which brings the First World War to life using technology to transform century-old footage from the First World War into HD colour. The film has been given a cinema rating of 15 as it contains content that some pupils may find upsetting. Pupils are asked to use their own discretion to decide whether the screening will be suitable for them.
Wednesday 7th, Thursday 8th and Friday 9th 12.30-1.10pm.
You may bring a packed lunch, but pupils are asked to watch the film respectfully.
Doors closed from 12.40pm.
If you can’t make it don’t worry. It will be shown on Sunday 11th of November on BBC2 at 9.30pm and will be available on BBC Iplayer.
We are commemorating all those who have died in genocides with a display in the library for Holocaust Memorial Day 2014.

Friday 24th of January – Au Revoir Les Enfants
All pupils and staff are welcome at these screenings. Both films start at 3.15pm.
We will also show the documentary film “Paper clips” in three parts at lunchtime on the 23rd, 24th and 27th of January. Doors open 12.50pm and film starts 1pm.
The new S2 have been working hard with Miss Lawrence and Mr McKee in history to create a display of the Scots they believe are truly great. It’s not all the usual suspects either. There’s everyone from Mary Queen of Scots to Paulo Nutini! Sporting heroes and important scientists. Come along and see if you agree with their choices.
Have you seen the S1 Social Studies display in the library yet? As part of their project on Scotland and Brazil, they’ve created tourism posters for Scotland and Brazil and made Mardi Gras masks. They’ve also been busy finding out about life in the slums of Brazil. Pupils have created models of favelas and written diaries as if they were a Brazilian street child. They’ve even created short video clips. It’s well worth a look.
