Congratulations to Saffron on being awarded our Pupil of the Week! Saffron designed a fantastic Electrical Safety Poster this week which was colourful, eye catching and  full of useful information. Great work Saffron!

A big thank you to P6 for organising our Pyjama Day today!  We had a lovely, comfy day in our pjs and raised lots of money for Sue Ryder. Thank you for all your kind donations!

It was lovely to see so many visitors in Room 6 today for our Open Afternoon! The children loved sharing what we have been learning in class! We hope you all enjoyed it!

What a brilliant effort P3/4 have made with their Class Talks over the last week or so! We were so proud of them all! We could see that a lot of  preparation had gone in to many of the talks and it was great to see the children talking so confidently in front of their peers. We thoroughly enjoyed hearing about such a wide range of hobbies….we had everything from karate to treasure hunting! Thank you to all parents for your support with this homework task and well done boys and girls!!

Over the next few weeks P3/4 are going to be learning about Famous Inventors and Inventions.  We have really enjoyed finding out about Alexander Graham Bell and the invention of the telephone this week.  The children have been comparing phones from the past with modern day technology and looking at how the invention has evolved.  We also had lots of fun working together to make String Telephones using plastic cups and the children were amazed at how well they worked when we tested them!

Congratulations to Rosita on her Pupil of the Week Award! We were all absolutely delighted to see Rosita score her first ever 17 in her Big Maths Beat That Challenge on Friday! She has been desperate to achieve this for some time so we were very proud of her. Let’s see if you can do it again this week Rosita – keep up the great work!

Huge congratulations to Kai on his Pupil of the Week Award today! Kai is developing the most beautiful handwriting and has been taking so much care with the presentation of his written work! Keep up the fantastic work Kai – we are extremely  proud of you!

P3/4 enjoyed their first visit of the Term to Kincorth Library today! Lovely to see the children so engrossed in their books!

Over the next few weeks, all the children in Abbotswell will be taking part in a mini topic focusing on a chosen Author. In P3/4, Miss Dezall is introducing us to one of her favourite childhood authors – Robert Munsch. Robert Munsch is an American-born Canadian author who has had more than 50 children’s book’s published, some of which have been international best sellers. The children are absolutely loving the books we have looked at so far this week – we’re sure they’ll be keen to share the stories they have heard with you!
