P3/4 Summer Outing

What a fabulous end of term outing P3/4 had today to Aberdeen Beach! We spent the morning at Frankie & Benny’s restaurant making our very own pizzas and mocktails which were delicious! We then had some fun in the park before heading onto the beach for an afternoon of sandcastle building and sunshine! Some of us even braved a paddle in the water! We also managed to squeeze in a 99 ice cream along the way! A brilliant time was had by all!

Pupil of the Week

Huge congratulations this week go to Amy on her Pupil of the Week Award! Amy worked extremely hard on her Reading Task Map activity this week and completed all of her sections very well. Keep up the good work Amy! We are very proud of you!

Activ8 Sessions

P3/4 are thoroughly enjoying taking part in weekly Active8 Mental Health Sessions with the Active Schools Team. We have been exploring issues such as anxiety, loneliness  and anger and learning about the importance of positive mental health.

Our Class Assembly

Well done to all the boys and girls for a fantastic Class Assembly all about France this afternoon. They put so much effort into learning all their words and really did us proud! We were delighted that so many guests were able to make it along and we hope you all enjoyed it!

P3/4 Class Assembly

Just a reminder that our Class Assembly will be taking place this Friday afternoon at 1.30pm in the main hall. The children are looking forward to show casing all the wonderful learning they have been doing for our France topic so far. We look forward to welcoming those of you who can make it.

Our Shining Stars!

Huge congratulations to Leo Hay on his Pupil of the Week Award on Friday! Leo produced a beautiful Monet inspired painting in class last week which he worked on meticulously! We were also absolutely delighted to see Leo finally master his Big Maths Beat That challenge in 30 seconds! Well done Leo! We are so proud of you!!

We were also thrilled to see Freya Bews receive a Playground Star Award for last week too! Keep up the great work Freya!

Sports Day

We are all looking forward to our Sports Day on Wednesday 23rd May! Like last year, the children will be split into their year groups for their races. As we are a composite P3/4 class this year, it means that our Sports Day timings will be as follows:

Primary 3 – 10am

Primary 4 – 1:30pm

We will make sure that the children are involved in each other’s Sports Day and will give them the opportunity to spectate and encourage their classmates! Fingers crossed for sunshine!!

Here are the targets we are currently working on for our daily Big Maths CLIC sessions:

Term 4

It’s hard to believe we have reached Term 4 already but we are looking forward to a very busy and exciting Term ahead! In the last couple of weeks, the children have started outdoor learning sessions on a Monday afternoon with Mr Miller which they are thoroughly enjoying. They have also been having lots of fun taking part in some additional PE and fitness sessions with a few of the RGU students on a Tuesday afternoon.

Our Term 4 Topic!

We have decided along with the children that our topic for the final term is going to be France. The children have  been making great progress with the French we have been learning in class and are keen to find out more about France as a country. We are looking forward to exploring many areas of interest such as famous French landmarks, foods and culture. We will be leading a class assembly on France later this term.

Congratulations to our first two Pupils of the Week for Term 4 – Franek and Daniel! Franek received his award for making huge improvements in his understanding of Time work in maths. Great job Franek! We are proud of you for working so hard on this! Daniel was delighted to receive his certificate on Friday for listening well and trying hard to work independently on his tasks. Well done Daniel! Keep up the great work!

The whole school was a sea of colour today as we dressed in our brightest clothes and had lots of Easter fun in memory of Mrs Murray. We enjoyed taking part in egg decorating, egg rolling, Easter colouring competitions and we even had a visit from the Easter Bunny!! Congratulations to Ruby who won the Egg Decorating Prize for our class and also to Abira who won the Easter Colouring Competition! We also had a few lucky raffle prize winners too! Thanks to all the kind donations we have raised lots of money to put towards our playground friendship benches fund!
