Rothesay Primary Pre-5

Care Inspectorate Visit – June 2026

We are delighted to share the outcome of our recent Care Inspectorate inspection of our Early Learning and Childcare provision.

Following their visit, the Care Inspectorate recognised the many strengths of our nursery and the high-quality experiences provided for our youngest learners. We are incredibly proud of the report, which reflects the commitment, professionalism and dedication of our staff team, as well as the wonderful children and supportive families who make our nursery such a special place.

The Care Inspectorate evaluated our nursery as follows:

  • Leadership – 4 (Good)
  • Children play and learn – 5 (Very Good)
  • Children are supported to achieve – 5 (Very Good)

These are fantastic evaluations and demonstrate the high standards that our Early Learning and Childcare team provides each and every day.

Throughout the report, inspectors recognised the warm, nurturing relationships between staff and children, the high-quality learning experiences on offer, and the positive progress children make during their time with us. We were particularly pleased that the findings reflect our campus vision of Belong, Learn, Thrive. From the moment children join our nursery, we want every child to feel that they belong within our caring community, develop a love of learning through meaningful and engaging experiences, and thrive as happy, confident and successful individuals. It is wonderful to see these values so clearly reflected in the inspectors’ feedback.

This report also recognises the significant improvements made across our campus over the past year. While we are delighted with these very positive outcomes, we remain committed to continually improving our provision. We will continue to listen to the views of our children, families and staff as we build on the many strengths identified within the report.

Thank you to our Early Learning and Childcare staff for their hard work, dedication and passion, and thank you to our parents and carers for the continued support and trust you place in us. By working together, we are ensuring every child has the very best start to their educational journey, reflecting our vision of Belong, Learn, Thrive and Argyll and Bute’s commitment to providing the Best Start for New Learners through inspiring learning environments that build curiosity, confidence and a love of learning.

The full Care Inspectorate report is available here and on the Care Inspectorate website, and I encourage you to take the time to read it.
