Greylag 

The Greylag goose is very rare in North America. 

The scientific name for the Greylag goose is Anser Anser.

A goose hiding behind a gorse bush.

Some Greylags in the winter go to the Balkans, Algeria, Tunisia and Italy. But on Islay they are residents all year.

The Greylag normally mates for life and nests on the ground among the vegetation.
