Chough
The red-billed Chough is mainly found on Islay and Colonsay.
They`re population is taking a major decline.
In 1986 there were 95 breeding pairs of choughs on Islay. But by 2013 that number had fallen to 39.
For chough on Islay 2007, 2008 and 2009 were all unlucky years with only 10% of the chicks that hatched surviving, however, now there are about 40% of chough chicks surviving their first few years.
