Golden eagle

Golden eagle

The scientific name for the golden eagle is Aquila chysaetos.

They fly with their wings in a shallow ‘V’.

Golden eagle flying in the distance.

They have been illegally killed in the past and are still occasionally poisoned, or have their nests robbed.

Sadly, in the UK there are only 510 breeding pairs and some on Islay, they are mostly found on the Oa.
