Health and Food Technology

“Good food is a global thing and I find that there is always something new and amazing to learn” Jamie Oliver

The Health and Food Technology department aims to give pupils a positive learning experience.  The subject develops practical and life skills which allow pupils to make informed decisions for their future health and wellbeing.

The Practical Cake Craft class are underway with coursework, practising skills which will help lead to successful assignments in the 2020 exam diet. Homework begins tonight with the return of The Great British Bake off on Channel 4, as pupils are encouraged to learn from the experiences of the candidates in the show.  As has become customary, each year, a class member is linked with a competitor and this year both the show and the class have 13 participants.  A real “Baker’s Dozen!” As the final week reaches a conclusion on the show, our “winning” student in class will receive a goodie bag of baking items. We hope to bring you some examples of our course work as we progress through the term
