Enterprise and Vocation is an employability skills programme designed to meet the needs of all senior pupils, both those planning to attend University and those likely to make the transition into work, training or college.
Pupils have the opportunity to undertake specific Skills for Work SQA accredited courses with our partners Argyll College and/or participate in the school’s work experience programme, enabling pupils to experience a ‘real life’ working environment.
Additional information on Skills for Work can be found here

Currently we are able to offer four Argyll College courses – Child Care, Engineering, Construction and Rural Skills.

Pupils benefit by being better prepared for the world of work and boosting their employability, by achieving industry recognised vocational qualifications and ensuring that they leave school with a positive and sustained destination, be it a job or further education.
The entrance criteria for courses are dependent upon the course applied for, National 5 courses would require a prior National 4 qualification, others would be based on Guidance recommendation and an interview with Argyll College.
‘Work Experience’ is available to pupils throughout the year.

The school is grateful for the support of local businesses and public bodies who offer work experience to pupils throughout senior school, either as a ‘taster’ for pupils unsure of the employment market that suits them, or for those wishing to burnish their CV’s as part of a specific university application.
