The National 5 Art and Design Course involves:

• Producing and Expressive Art unit with either a Portraiture, Landscape or Still life theme: 100 marks
• Producing a Design unit with either a Graphic design, Product Design or Jewellery/Fashion theme: 100 marks
• Producing written work on 2 Artists and 2 Designers exploring their background and work leading to a 1hr 30 min written exam: 50 marks

All practical work is sent to the SQA to be assessed at the end of the year.

All skills and learning lead towards the Higher Art and Design course.
