This week as part of our Outdoor learning, we had fun decorating our journey sticks. We used a variety of collections from outdoors, arts and crafts and memorabilia from home. We worked together to share ideas and collaborate before getting creative! The next step is to share our journey sticks with the class reflecting on achievements, memories, challenges and growth experiences they have had this academic year.
We have been practising our HOT questions this term to encourage critical thinking and go beyond basic comprehension skills across the curriculum. Today as an assessment piece we read an extract and then individually we created a variety of questions on our Jigsaw template, using a specific pen colour for specific HOT questions, eg Creative question, analysis question or understanding question. This was great fun and we enjoyed writing with our new pens too!
Today we had the chance to practise our Scottish social dancing, the Gay Gordons’s! It was so much fun and we can’t wait to show our parents/carers this dance later on this morning in our Burns Supper Assembly.

This afternoon P5-P7 were very lucky to receive free tickets to go and watch the RSNO “Sounds of the Deep” production in Paisley Town Hall. It was a fabulous musical and artistic experience to watch and the sound story was incredible too.

Today we had a wonderful practise of our Burns supper, ready to perform tomorrow. The children sang beautifully and presented their speaking parts with confidence. We are excited to do it all again tomorrow for our grown ups.
This week we were practising for our Burns supper through animation. It was very easy to animate our characters and record audio using Adobe Express on our GLOW account. We found our Scot’s poem from the library online and then recorded our poem. We had fun selecting our character, background and video size. The first poem we recorded was ‘To a Mouse’ and the results were amazing!
Today P5-7 were exploring the natural soundscape in our playground. First we had a super reflection discussion on our favourite achievements and memories from last year. Then we had to choose our special stick from outside and had time to collect materials which are all natural objects and treasures. In our next session we will be indoors using coloured yarn to decorate and get creative.
Today we were exploring equivalent fractions in our numeracy and having fun playing games and using the Mathigon Polypad. Mathigon helps us to visualise the fractions and see pictures of equivalent fractions on bar modelling before moving on to the abstract process using our timestables.

After a wonderful morning with our author and an excellent Burns assembly practice, we had some fun playing football outside. We also played a few fun, fitness games in the hall before home time. One game we all loved is called ‘Steal the bacon’, and we finished off with a running game involving lots of skills such as communication and collaboration.
