We had a fun whole school visit to the RHS yesterday. It was a fantastic day out in the sunshine, getting to see the cattle, sheep, horses and much more. We also had the chance to try lots of different food and participate in fun activities from the exhibitors. At the end we had ice- cream and a play time in the park! Thanks to Ms Petrie for joining us on the trip and volunteering her time to help supervise the children, we all loved having you with us.
Today our creativity hour was designing word art! We were working online with the National Galleries of Scotland and two fabulous industry experts-Lorna and Liz. They talked about exploring different artwork and the use of communication and words. We then created our own word art to display around the school and even one on a small paper towel!

Primary 5-7 had an adventurous day yesterday canoeing in the Union canal with Ian, from Excite leisure. Lots of new canoeing skills were practised and we even had time for a few water games too!
At the weekend, Aila won 6 rosettes in her pony competitions with Doodles. We are all very proud of Aila and she feels great about this achievement.
A busy week in P1-P7. I hope you all had a wonderful Easter break and are ready for the busy term ahead. This week we have been creating Funky Bunnies using line and pattern, developing our music skills with Limelight music and learning outdoors in the sunshine!
It was lovely coming together with the whole school for the Easter service. The P5-P7 children re-told the Easter story and the P1-P3 children sang lots of cheerful songs. Well done to all the speakers and singers, a fabulous job! Thank you also to minister Mr Craig, who came along to say a few words and meet the parents.

This morning, P5-P7 participated in a super handball festival. We played lots of rounds against our cluster primaries and had lots of fun!
Maths; Building, Thinking Classroom activities this week.
We are participating in the local Hobby Craft, Easter Bonnet competition. Some fabulous designs have been created and we can’t wait to hand them in to the shop for judging.
This morning P5-P7 were working in random groups playing a game of reasoned rounding. Lots of collaboration and Math Talk Moves strategies within each group.
This week P5-7 had the chance to train up in leading their own lunch time club. During session 1 we explored the skills we would need to be able to organise a games club and we talked about the different sports we might like to play. Next week it is an outside active school’s session.
During Outdoor Learning we created our own design of our favourite book using only natural materials. We are also very proud of our new Bike shed!
