Help your child to find empty containers of different shapes. Fill them with snow. Can you use the snow shapes to build a shape city?

Fill some of the smaller containers with water and freeze. How long does the water take to freeze then thaw?

(To the tune of I’m a little tea pot)

I’m a great big snowman,

Tall and fat.

Here’s my tummy.

Here’s my hat.

Buttons for my eyes,

And a carrot nose,

I’m all snow from head to toe!

Help to look after the birds who find it difficult to find berries or insects under the snow.

Did a little patch out of  the snow in your garden. Sprinkle some bird seed on it fof the birds to eat.

Measure how deep the snow is in your garden/area.  Use a standard measuring device like a ruler or measuring tape if you have one and then try to measure it using other items – Duplo bricks maybe?  Looking forward to seeing who can be really creative with what you measure with!

Make a snowman family.   Compare sizes using smallest, largest, tallest and shortest!

Take a picture for your online learning journal to show how you got on!

Today is World Book Day.  Take some time to share a story with your little one.  Remember to take some photographs which can be shared on your online learning journals!
